Sam has always been fascinated by the world of investing. Growing up in Bergen County, NJ, he started managing his own stock portfolio while a student in high school. After college, he launched his finance career with international investment management firm Barings (owned by MassMutual) as a pricing analyst in Charlotte, N.C. He later joined the firm’s alternative investments team before relocating to Los Angeles-based Bollenbach Investments, a single-family office hedge fund, as a precious metals/generalist investment analyst.

Now a research analyst at Westmount, Sam facilitates the investment team’s various research needs in the public and private markets, evaluating potential new managers, nurturing relationships with existing managers, and developing and underwriting new opportunities.

Sam completed his undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina, where he double majored in finance and management. Outside the office, Sam is passionate about exercise and personal growth. On the weekends you can find him hiking and fishing, reading at the local coffee shop, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
