Bob Berliner, a finance, energy and aviation entrepreneur, and his son Jim, a former federal prosecutor, saw an opportunity — to deliver truly individualized advice from an unbiased source. The firm they established combined Bob’s expertise in financial markets and passion for innovation with Jim’s intellectual rigor and commitment to fiercely protecting client interests. Our team continues to embrace those same values today.
From the beginning, we were independent and objective. We were among the first to adopt the fiduciary advisor model that eliminated commissions — and conflicts of interest. We innovated in many other areas that are becoming industry standards: delivering institutional-style investing for individuals; opening up access to real estate and other alternative investments; providing sophisticated financial planning; and, investing for positive social and environmental change.
Our proudest accomplishment is the tight-knit collective of talents we’ve brought together for our clients. Our team includes specialists in investment research, financial planning and client service, blending seasoned wisdom with fresh perspectives.
Many of our long-time clients have retired and put into effect the plans we’ve developed together. This experience is hugely gratifying, for them and for us. We’re also helping new generations of clients plan their futures with genuine confidence and enthusiasm. This is what it’s all about.
